"Yes I did have the chance to use your rust seal! And I have to admit it is a bit better than the other two leading sellers. It was a hot day and humid too, since I’m in texas, and it went on nice but didn’t tack up for over an hour. But within two hours it was a really nice finish and really secured the little rust area’s very nicely!

I will be ordering another gallon within the next month or so when I go to finish the floors on my camaro. I have attached a photo or two for you.

Great product! Best yet!"

Bob M. from Bainbridge Island, Wa says about Tank Sealer..

“I bought a sail boat that had a leaking fiberglass fuel tank that was integral with the hull of the boat. Therefore it was impossible to remove it. It had been leaking for about 10 years and two previous owners had tried unsuccessfully to repair it from the outside.

I cleaned the tank as per your instructions and dumped the KBS coating material into the bottom of the tank and used a small paint roller to apply the material to the inside of the tank. I removed the excess material from the tank bottom before letting it set up for a week. I put 90 gallons of diesel fuel( that I had removed and stored in drums) back into the tank and am glad to say that there were NO leaks. Your material was easy to apply and repaired the tank exactly as you said it would.

Thank you very much.”

I would just like to say that I am very pleased with your product. the Frame Coater Kit was complete even with gloves. Most importantly, your product did what it claimed it would do which ironically is hard to find nowadays. The product is professional grade but very user friendly.

I have since bought my first car and plan on using your other products to protect the body and frame from rust. As a satisfied customer I promise to recommend your product to others in the future.

Fix-It Guide – Bubbling – Tank Sealer

August 26th, 2009 admin No comments

BUBBLING
Small bubbles in or on the paint film.

CAUSE:

Liquid solvent (thinners/reducers) becomes "trapped" in the paint film when the surface layer skins over too quickly, preventing their evaporation into the atmosphere. Solvents that vaporize within the paint film leave bubbles, pinholes or craters as they push through and "pop" the surface. Solvents can be trapped due to:

  1. Excessive film thickness from puddling in tank.
  2. Too hot and/or too humid atmospheric conditions.
  3. Too hot/warm tank conditions.
  4. Moisture remaining in tank.

REPAIR:

  1. Allow surface to completely cure and reevaluate.
  2. Strip out and remove using KBS Strip. Repeat AquaKlean, RustBlast, and Gold Standard Tank Sealer steps.

PREVENTION:

  • Allow tank to reach room temperature before applying sealer.
  • Do not attempt to apply sealer in direct sunlight, as tank surface and inside air will be too warm.
  • Drain out excess sealer.
  • Avoid allowing coating to puddle/pool inside tank.
  • Avoid too hot/humid atmospheric conditions (ideal = 55°-82°F/13°-28°C)
  • Do not allow tank to "cure or dry" in direct sunlight.
  • Keep tank away from heat while curing.

Buy four quarts of RustSeal to maximize your savings and avoid waste. Best buy for multiple larger size projects. Each RustSeal quart provides 2 coats of coverage for an approx. 50 sq. ft. area. Mix or match colors.

Click HERE for more information on the Convenience Gallon – 4 Quart Special.

TIP OF THE MONTH

Do you always seem to have paint peeling from your wood windowsills, doors, door frames or thresholds…no matter what you do? The key is to permanently waterproof & seal the wood surface using RustSeal. Yes, RustSeal will stop the damaging effects of water penetration not only for metal but wood as well. Just scrape off the old coating, make sure the wood is bone dry & apply a couple of coats of RustSeal.  RustSeal loves to seep into and adhere to porous surfaces and wood is no exception.  Your woodwork will look great and have a rock hard nonporous coating permanently resistant to moisture, mold & mildew! As always, topcoat RustSeal with your own paint color if directly exposed to UV rays.

What Others Are Saying …

What Others Are Saying about KBS Coatings:

“I have used the Rust Seal coating and the epoxy putty with great results from both. I have found the consistency of the Rust seal better than another Stop Rust Coating I have been using for over 10 years. Your product flows and covers better, seems to be a higher solids coating.”
- Mike M.

“My boys have bikes that have truly taken a beating with the beach weather! I can’t afford to buy the boys new bikes, that would cost me a small fortune! So, I decided to try out this KBS system. The boys and I decided to just dive into it and see where it took us. Much to my delight, it was an incredible experience. This system was so easy to use, and the end results are beautiful! My boys actually love their bikes more now than they ever did! Keep up the great work KBS!!”

POR-15 - Stop Rust

POR-15 - Stop Rust

"Finished my fuel tank this past weekend and all went well. I had first started with cleaning the tank and welding a few holes up in my 44 gallon aluminum tank. I do have to say that this all took a matter of weeks to complete because of proper drying and work schedule. The process was very straight forward. I couldn’t believe how well the Gold Standard coated the inside of the tank with multiple baffles in the tank. I then painted the exterior with gloss black. This being in the hull of my boat never to be seen by sun again but it sure looks good. Thanks for such a great product!"
